Scrap Room Progress

Hi all

So many of you may know one of my new year resolutions was to get my scrapbook organised.. well my whole house actually. Its been slow going with all that's happened lately but it's coming along nicely.

For my birthday my parents got me an expedit shelf unit from Ikea which has formed a large part of my reorganisation. I love it but geez it was painful to put together. I kind of want one in every room now haha

BEFORE:

PROGRESS SO FAR:

So as you can see, still a long way to go but that is so much better than it was... trust me. I know many of you will still probably cringe at the site but I'm loving a big clear space on the floor where I never used to be able to walk. So a lot of it is now shoved under the desk or on the other side of the room but I'm getting there.

There is another room in the house that's getting a big bit of a make over. It was a spare bedroom/music instrument storage room... but it will one day hopefully have the special purpose of a baby nursary. Despite our recent loss, I am staying on track with the revamp of this room which is now a fair bit emptier than it was in these pictures:

The bed was sold, the instruments are in another room and the clothes pile has mostly been put away finally lol So now there are some baby items starting to fill the room instead.

So all is going slowly but forwards in my declutter process. More updates to come once I get on top of it all again.

And yes, I'll have some scrappy shares soon. Time to go do some scrapping

Sorry the photos are so poor... bad lighting on the day and I didn't realise how bad they were until I uploaded them onto the WP forum. Hoping For Better Days

Hello everyone,

Well 2012 got off to exactly the start I'd hoped for. Early in the new year we found out we were expecting. Things could not be more perfect and exciting in our household, imagining life with a new addition.

Unfortunately things took a turn for the worse after 7 hours in the emergency department at hospital on Saturday and today has been our final confirmation that we lost our baby and have in fact already miscarried. This news was not unexpected with many days of physical pain and other symptoms. However seeing that empty space on the ultrasound was still heartbreaking.

At first I was tempted to run scared from the situation and not really want to try again for a while, but my strong desire to be a mother has helped us move past those fears and we are hoping to try again quickly and hopefully have a successful, healthy pregnancy soon. Of course it will be scary next time, worrying that the same thing will happen but we've just got to hope our bad luck is behind us.

So not exactly a happy, romantic valentines day for us. It isn't exactly a major celebration for my husband and I anyway, as it is my birthday in 2 days. Yep, 29 this week. Another occasion I don't really wish to celebrate right now however we will spend it with immediate family at dinner on Thursday night.

What has been amazing is the support from family, friends and everyone really. Even the many people who have no idea what we have been going through have been full of kind words and support. Some  may have guessed what happened, but others simply offer words of condolence without needing to know why. We are blessed to have so many wonderful people in our lives!

Now is the time when we pick ourselves up, brush ourselves off and focus on those better days ahead and hope for that day when we get to hold a precious little person in our arms...

Photography Class and Layouts to Share

Hey there,

Been forever since I blogged. Unfortunately its been a pretty stressful time for me and continues to be that way at the moment. I am hoping for a positive outcome to my situation, but am unsure at this stage. However, I did have a bit of fun today doing a photography course with my dad.

We both have SLR cameras and are a bit new to the whole process so I got a cheap lesson for each of us for him as a christmas present. I knew he wouldn't go alone so I got to benefit too lol It was only a 3 hour beginner course and the main focus was on portrature using Apeture. We had to take photos of people in our small groups so some of my photos are of complete strangers lol But Here are a couple of my dad... but he really hates photos so the funny faces say it all!

The landscapes did not look quite as hoped. This one isn't so bad but I wasn't too impressed with most of the landscape ones I took so I'm not sure what I was doing wrong as I had the settings I was told to use lol
Bad time of day for good photos maybe. It was about 12:30.
Here is one of me that dad took with his camera.
And now some new layout shares using the lovely D-lish products
Materials: Kaiser papers & die cuts; Wow chipboard; twidleybitz chipboard; vintage lace; d-lish scraps flowers, doily, pin, bottle cap, pearl dots.

Materials: D-lish scraps doily, bottlecap, journal spot, washi tape, bingo card; safarass lass alphas

Have a great week everyone xo
