Birthday

Hey there

A quick share from the retreat. In our Fancy that retreat bags, we had a lovely Bella Boulevard kit to work with in pretty purples. This is one of the layouts I made using the kit during the retreat of my niece Kaleaha's first birthday earlier this year:

I am entering this one for the Sassy Scrapper August sketch challenge. It's so rare I get to play along with challenges these days so always nice when retreats give that opportunity. I wonder if I'll get more or less scrapping done once maternity leave kicks in. My guess is more before bub arrives... then much less for a while lol

Thanks for visiting.

A2Z Scraplets August Inspiration

Hey there everyone,

Have you been over to the A2Z Scraplets blog since yesterday? Julie has been busy uploading all the new inspiration from the design theam with the new releases. So much goodness to be seen. Be sure to pop over for a visit!

As always, I had lots of fun creating with my scraplets for this release and here are some of the end results:

I love you this much
Materials: paper - echo park, kraft; embellishments - d'lish scraps, echo park, A2Z scraplets; other - glimmer mist

I Adore you
Materials: Paper - echo park, black cardstock; Embellishments- D'lish scraps, echo park, A2Z Scraplets, dymo labeller.

Too much energy
Materials: White cardstock; embellishments - echo park; d-lish scraps; A2Z Scraplets chipboard; Other - flowers, kindy glitz, glimmer mist.

I had a bit of fun with this title, by spraying it with green glimmer mist, then inking in places with some Tim Holtz distress ink to give it an almost camo look, then edging with some kindy glitz for some sparkle.

Hope you have enjoyed the first of my A2Z shares for August. I'll post the rest soon :)

Kraft It Up - Shoulder With a View

Hey there,

What's this... another post in the space of a week? Wow... I'm on fire lol Nothing like an awesome retreat to give plenty to share I guess. So now to share another layout I did at the Fancy That retreat, which was based on the current Kraft it Up challenge.

The challenge required the use of layers, with this sketch:

So here is my take on the challenge:
Materials: Kraft cardstock; paper - authentique; Alphas - AC Thickers, Kaiser, Authentique; Embellishments - D-lish scraps, My Vintage Blossoms; Tim holtz distress ink.

The journalling on the tag is about how our kitten Squeak loves being up high on shoulders but one day he will be too big to travel around this way.

Thanks for looking.

Wedding Card

Hey there,

Yesterday my husband and I had a friend's wedding to attend over the NSW border. We almost did not make it in time due to a massive accident on the Pacific Motorway. A bus and car. Not good. So our 2 hour drive took about 3.5 hours but thankfully we got there seconds before the bridal car arrived.

The wedding had a bit of a vintage theme so I tried to create a card with a bit of a vintage look too, using the current challenge criteria from Scrapbook Boutique for further inspiration. Mostly the colour palette and of course the butterflies. So here is my card:

Materials: Paper - Kaisercraft; embellishments - D'lish scraps; other - doily, flower, card.

Here is a pic of Simon and I at the wedding, complete with growing baby bump. 24.5 weeks.

Have a great Sunday everyone. Mine has been a productive day of housework so far so hoping to get more done... plus baby shower invites :)

Dexter's Shadow

Hey there

One of my favourite layouts I did at the Fancy That retreat was this one I did featuring my cats, Dexter and Squeak:
I was double inspired with this one, firstly by one of the current challenge words at Bird is the Word - Shadow but also by the 1st sketch of the month at the Kaiser website. The layout mostly consists on Kaisercraft Madame Boutique collection, which I love. There is journalling on the tag about how wherever Dexter goes, Squeak is usually not far behind him. He loves his big brother so much.

Materials: Paper, collectables - Kaiser; AC Thickers; D'lish scraps embellishments; Stampin up banner punch; Tim holtz distress ink.

Here is the Kaiser Sketch 1 for August:

Thanks for looking.

Back From Retreat

Hi all

On the weekend I went to the Fancy that Retreat, which was my second retreat. We had a blast and I managed to get heaps done. Not quite as much as my last retreat weekend but this one included a structured class with the extremely talented Angela Peardon. We made a gorgeous OTP shelf frame from Scrapmatts so that was fun. It was actually the first scrap related class I've been to.

Over the coming week or two, I will start to share with you some of my layouts including some of my new DT work once I am able to share. For now, here is the frame:

Some close ups:

Blogger is giving me issues today as I have been trying to post this since last night but my photos would not upload. I had intended to show some layout sneaks too but they will have to wait until Blogger wants to play nice.

Tonight we are off to the Queensland Music Awards Ceremony in Brisbane as my husband's band has been nominated in the Heavy catagory for an award. Very exciting. So it's time for me to go start prepping myself to get pretty. Gotta love an excuse to dress up... even if it was challenging to find a dress to fit the bump!

A2Z Scraplets August Challenge

Hey everyone,

A quick share that I'm a bit late with. This month over at A2Z Scraplets, its a recipe challenge. See below:
And here is my challenge layout:

I even got to use up scraps from my latest DT kit from Wicked Princesses, the All A Flutter kit. That makes 5 layouts and a card or 2 from the one kit. Very good value!

Hope to see you all join in if you get a chance this month. Afterall, nothing better than scrapping in winter ;)

It's done...

Well... I just finished my very first round of Scrapbooking Memories Masters creations. Took me a few weeks to get motivated enough to do all 4, but I made it... with little time to spare.

I am not expecting anything. I'm still too much of a scrapping newbie to have any expectations for masters but an honourable mention would be pretty cool. Mostly for me it was challenging myself to work to the deadline and work from the set criteria required for a little bit of personal development. My scrapping has been sporadic during my pregnancy due to a lack of energy so it was good to have a goal in mind.

Now it will be back to DT work and getting ready for a retreat next weekend. Yay! It will be my second ever retreat and I figured after the blast I had on my last one, I needed to squeeze one more in before bubs arrived as it'll be a while before I get that opportunity again.

If you want some inspiration, be sure to pop over to A2Z Scraplets for the August challenge. It's a criteria challenge this month rather than a sketch so something a bit different. My DT example isn't on the blog post yet as I haven't been home during daylight hours much to photograph it, but I will be sure to get that done ASAP.

Hope you all have a great weekend planned.
