Double Layout - Family Holiday

The Kaisercraft blog Saturday sketches are back and after a trip to Spotlight yesterday for fabric, I did happen to come home with the Getaway edition of the Kaiser Captured Memories project life style cards. And this actually inspired me to want to do a scrapbook layout instead of PL.

So I decided to join in with the January sketch:
It was a bit of a last minute decision and I ran out of sunlight before I had time to photograph so please mind the not so great photographs.

I actually decided to turn this into a double page layout since I had lots of photos to include from our recent holiday. And thanks to the film strip element, it was the perfect time to use one of the Scrapmatts film strip chipboards. I added little photos in behind it. Love the way it turned out.

I used quite a mixed bag of Kaiser collections. Captured moments-Getaway, Velvet Ensemble, Timeless classics 12x12 pad, Picked pear Then a few bits of Scrapmatts and some Thickers for the title.

I actually found this double a little challenging lol It took me 2 sittings to complete as I got frustrated at it last night but am happy with the end result now.

Thanks for popping by

PL Week 3 & 4

Always good to be caught up, even if it is only 4 weeks into the year. But here are my last 2 weeks of PL pages, which included pics from our lovely family mini holiday to Coolum beach last weekend. We celebrated my father in laws 60th birthday, which he was able to make extra memorable by jumping out of a plane. He loved it... can't say skydiving is on my bucket list though hehe

Scrapmatts January

Hello

I am excited to be hanging about on the Scrapmatts team for another year. This team is such a fun one to be a part of and it helps keep my chipboard love satisfied ;)

With our January DT challenge to create a layout featuring ourselves, I figured it was the perfect time to do a reflective 2013 layout... which does feature me, as per our strict guideline lol Although being the one behind the camera most of the time, most of my photos are selfies. This one was a rare one taken by my hubby... at my request, with my little miss exhausted after some Boxing Day socialising.

My 2013 was amazing. I loved every part of it and cannot even think of a negative. Motherhood sure is something!

Isn't it fascinating how our style seems to change over time. I was thinking as I did these pages how my pages have become far more minimalistic than they were in the past. I still do the occasional heavily embellished page, but these days I tend to keep things simple and no longer have flowers on everything lol This style is easier to put in albums too ;)

We had a big milestone in December. Our little Lily turned 1. Cannot believe how quick that went. However a few days before her birthday I had a little fun doing this home smash cake photo shoot. I am by no means a photographer but I'm pretty happy with some of the happy snaps I got on the day and she seemed to have fun.

When it comes to altering chipboard, because I so often scrapbook with Lily nearby, I can be limited on my methods so washi tape is such a perfect and quick solution to altering chipboard. I love the way the little banner turned out with a few strips of washi.

Project Life 2014 Week 1-2

Hello

So the new year is well and truly in progress. And so far I am happily up to date with my digital project life. Loving the digi process. Sure I still love the physical side but this is so simple. I thought I had better share my first couple of pages

I am thinking I might change the title card for this layout. I love the way my week one turned out so maybe I will do it like that all year. Haven't decided yet.

If you want to see some of the physical PL work I've done lately, don't forget to check out the Scrapbooking Creations blog where you will see it is my week of inspiration on the blog :)

Decemeber Daily Wrap Up

Hello everyone

After a few technological delays, I am here to share my last few December Daily pages. I decided to only go to Boxing Day this year in my DD album, rather than through to new Year's Eve as we didn't have a lot on in between those days this year.

This first page has a bit of up cycling as a filler page using a pattern cut from a gift bag & a gift tag.

There should be another page of this protector but my printer has not allowed me to print the reverse side of this protector yet which will be the same template but with Christmas Day pics.

Love this pic of my daughter falling asleep on my brothers shoulder. He lives interstate so it would have been nice for him to have this special uncle moment. She still looks so tiny here.

This final page is a fave too. Simple and bold.

December daily complete for another year (probably time I finished last years) and now for my farewell.

As you may have already noticed, I have decided not to continue on with Polly! In 2014. This was a tough decision as I very much enjoyed my time on this team & have loved all the goodies in my monthly PL kits, not to mention my month as guest scrapbook kit DT too. However I have decided to simplify my Scrapbooking more in 2014 which means my weekly album is going digital. I will still be doing catch up for my 2013 album & keep a physical album for my daughter so there will still be traditional PL (and Scrapbooking) happening, but not as much.

Thanks Kayla & Ruth for having me on the team. It's been a blast & I can't wait to see what the 2014 team bring!

Happy New Year and Welcome to 2014

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Can you believe it is 2014 already. Wow! I am a little stunned by how fast 2013 went but little wonder with it being our first full year as parents. And what a wonderful year it was. I can't imagine a year will ever be quite that good... but I hope I am wrong about that.

So my goals for this year have a big focus on simplifying. While I do not do the one word each year project, Simplify would be my word. I plan to declutter, organise and downsize my 'stuff' as I am a bit of a hoarder and am quite messy. This was my goal last year and I did make a nice start but got a bit distracted by motherhood, returning to work, starting a business, being creative... you know how it goes!

I have started on my goal too. I started re-cleaning out my wardrobe. I only did this last year but I still have way too many clothes I never wear so this time I got a little stricter and I've only done the WIR so far. Yet to go through the drawers and spare cupboard but its a start. I really don't need 10 of everything. And in saying that.. I just purchased 2 new pairs of swimmers that I really didn't need :-/ Oops! But did put down a $2 t-shirt yesterday because it was cheap... but I have plenty that work just a well haha

So to kick 2014 off with my new simple plan, I have also decided to do my 2014 project life as a digital album. I am excited about this and have already started with my title page and half of my week 1 spread done. I will still be scrapping and doing some physical PL, since I still have about a month of 2013 to finish plus a lot more baby album to finish. You will see these progressing along the way on the Scrapbook Creations blog as part of their PL team for 2014 :-D And you will still see my traditional scrapping with Scrapmatts for another year.

Anyway, wishing you all a wonderful 2014
